Our farm

Everything about the Unterstandroa farm

Welcome to the Unterstandroahof

Our Unterstandroa farm is located above Kastelruth at the edge of the forest in a quiet and sunny location at 1,200 metres altitude - surrounded by lush wildflower meadows and with a magnificent panoramic view of the Schlern massif and a wide view to the south and west.

Pitschenbaucherhof

Our nickname "Pitschenbauch" dates back to ancient times: clay was once excavated at the farm and fired into bricks. Our great-grandparents travelled from farm to farm building bread ovens and tiled stoves - a craft that still shapes our name to this day.

History of the farm

Since 1908 recorded in the Thousand-Year Book, our farm has been passed down from generation to generation through the Messner and Mauroner families to the present day.

In 1990, Marianna and Johann began renting out two vacation apartments. This left a lasting impression on Thomas, and he soon knew that he wanted to continue offering this kind of relaxing getaway.

Together with his wife Melanie, the idea took shape: to offer guests a retreat where they could experience nature up close. Waking up to a magnificent view of nature, listening to the rustling of birch leaves, and experiencing the breathtaking sunset in the evening. And letting yourself be enchanted by the melody of birdsong and the chirping of crickets.

A vacation for everyone to experience nature and farm life up close.
